Hubba (Hubba) Shrimp
Cornmeal-Crusted Fried Shrimp
"Pop" Tartar Sauce
Gearing up for the upcoming release of our premier condiment product called Pop Sauce in hopefully just a few weeks, as we continue to find wonderful new ways to use it.
We already know it can go on a multitude of favorite foods, but it also makes a great ingredient to mix in with and to create other food products.
Here, some jumbo shrimp get dregded in flour, then egg, then cornmeal seasoned with salt, white pepper, garlic and onion powders, and smoked paprika, the quick-fried in hot oil for just a couple of minutes to just cook the shrimp through and give a nice, golden, crispity crunchy crust.
We mixed our Pop Sauce with mayonnaise and relish, to make a delightful savory, sweet, savory, spicy, and smoky tartar sauce. Cornmeal-crusted shrimp — fresh out of hot oil, hit with some fresh-squeezed lemon juice, and dipped into Pop Sauce-based tartar sauce — turns the palate on to the delicious nostalgia of the fried shrimp we all grew up loving, with the broader, more layered flavors and tastes that take this other lovely but common dish way the next culinary level.
