MV Fresh and SC Fresh Soft Drinks
Bajan flavors-inspired sodas
Travel to the Caribbean — specifically, the island of Barbados — has broadened our palates by introducing us to new flavors. Two extremely popular flavors in Barbados are mauby and sorrel, the former a heady, slightly barky and bitter flavor, and the later a more sweet floral taste. Both are usually prepped by being steeped with spices, and can often be found in sweet applications.
In these spiced and sweetened forms, the mauby is evocative of root beer, and the sorrel of a fruit (though made from leaves), and we imagined a great way to introduce those flavors to others who, like us, were completely unaware of them.
So we came up with what we are calling “Freshes”, one version labelled MV (mauby vanilla) and one labelled SC (sorrel citrus), each with their own variation as well (Bajan Cherry for the MV Fresh and Ginger Tamarind for the SC Fresh).
Our plan is to introduce these stateside and introduce these great-tasting, unique flavors to soft drink-lovers for their new enjoyment.
